    Dawar has been designing, manufacturing, and tuning Projected Capacitive (PCAP) Touch Sensors for over ten years.  Our PCAP sensors have been used on hundreds of produts in every market and environment imaginable.  We have a number of standard PCAP sensors listed below that are available for purchase directly from our website.  We can modify a standard PCAP sensor to meet your needs, or design a custom solution based on your particular requirements.  Contact Dawar to discuss your custom sensor design.

    Open frames

    Dawar's open frame products combine a high quality display and touch sensor in a single assembly ready to be mounted directly into your product.  Each one includes an LCD driver board that supports standard HMDI or VGA input, and a touch controller board with a USB interface.  These open frame products are great for quick turn prototypes, proof-of-concept demo platforms, or even low quanity production runs.     Touch monitors

    Dawar Technologies has developed a line of custom monitors based on our industry leading projected capacitive touch technology. Available with black or white sheet metal enclosures, each monitor has a variety of video input options. Articulated arm mounts can also be provided for each size. For more information or if you are interested in a custom monitor size not listed here, contact Dawar.

    All in ones

    Dawar Technologies has expanded our line of standard products to include all-in-one computers. Our all-in-one products are based on our monitor product line which use Dawar's industry leading projected capacitive touch technology.  The enclosures are black powder-coated sheet metal (also available in white).  Inside the enclosure is a single board computer (SBC) preloaded with Android 5.1.  Articulated arm mounts can also be provided for each size.

    Take advantage of all the benefits of USB-C with Dawar's proprietary Simple-C LCD driver board!  With Simple-C, one cable between your host computer and your Dawar touch-enabled monitor provides power, video, audio, touch, and USB hub functionality.  Simple-C's modular design can be easily customized to work with any LCD.  If your host computer doens't support high-power USB-C, Dawar's Simple-Host USB-C host board can fill the gap between your processer board and a Simple-C enabled monitor.

    Resistive Touch Sensors

    A resisitve touch sensor can be a cost effective alternative to PCAP touch.  Dawar's engnineers have over 30 years experience designing and manufacturing resisitve touch sensors.  We have standard 4-wire, 5-wire, and 8-wire resistive sensors that can be customized for your project.  Contact Dawar to find out if a resistive touch sensor is a good fit for your project.

Choose 1: Single, or Dual/Multi-Touch?

CONSIDER: Single-touch interaction may achieve all of the goals of the application at a lower price point. Dual/Multi-Touch support is needed for gestural interactions (flick, swipe, pinch). Select your choice to continue.

Resistive touch screens are designed to support single-touch input. There is no limitation on the type of material used for input. Highly cost-competitive, stable, mature technology with excellent detection accuracy.

Multiple Touch Point Support
Multiple Touch Point Support

Projected Capacitive touch screens support single or multiple touch points, allowing for gestural interaction. No part of the screen physically moves at detection, making the touch experience lighter and smoother (smart-phone like).

Surface Hardness

Scratch Resistance, Screen Durability?

Surface hardness is measured on a 10-point scale from 1H (graphite) to 10H (diamond). This scale determines resistance to severe scratching and day-to-day wear and tear.

CONSIDER: your environmental conditions, likely exposure to accidental damage by sharp objects and exposure to chemicals.

Resistive touch screens are highly durable (supporting 10M touches at the same location), but can be more prone to surface damage from scratches and chemicals. Typically rated level 3H (pearl), they can be treated to achieve level 7H (quartz).

Extreme Surface Hardness (9H)
Extreme Surface Hardness (9H)

Projected Capacitive screens are recommended for any environment with potential exposure to weather, chemicals, cleaning products, and/or accidental or malicious surface damage. They are built to ratings of 7H (Quartz) or 9H (Sapphire).

Optical Clarity

CONSIDER: the complexity of information and graphics in your display, the variability of lighting conditions in user context.
Good Light Transmission (80%+)
Good Light Transmission (80%+)

Resistive screens typically achieve light transmission ratings approaching 80%, due to the overlay and spacer dots placed in front of the display source.

Maximum Light Transmission (90%+)
Maximum Light Transmission (90%+)

PCAP touch screens achieve light transmission ratings approaching 90%, making them ideal for high-resolution graphics displays.
