This unique pushbutton technology provides the thin design of a membrane switch with the crisp, tactile feel of a mechanical switch. The simple combination of a metal actuator and a permanent magnet uses the natural force of magnetism instead of flexing domes or springs to provide substantially more durability than conventional switch technologies.
Increase your design capabilities by placing rotors where you never could before. The thiNcoder rotor operates when a user manipulates the rotary knob. When the knob twists, the magnet within the rotor causes the gold-plated armature balls to rotate within their circular housing. As the balls roll across the flex-circuit membrane, they move either into or out of shorting relation with the electrodes, and the machine receives the user’s input.
This next-generation technology allows for the integration of cursor control devices into ultra-thin, durable control panels. Offering durability and environmental sealing improvements over alternative cursor technologies, MagnaMouse™ is easily integrated with PushGate® or other pushbutton technologies into one thin panel, eliminating secondary assembly processes.
