BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Dawar’s Board of Directors is made up of the most prominent professionals in our community. Our Board members were selected for their personal and professional experiences and are dedicated to Dawar’s continued success.

Carl Snyder - President and CEO

Carl joined Dawar Technologies from Quality Fabricating Inc., a precision metal fabricator, where he served as President and CEO. Previously Carl worked for J&L Structural for 13 years in various executive positions, including President, Vice President and Treasurer. Carl was one of three partners to start J&L Structural and grow the business from $38 million in sales to over $110 million. Prior to J & L, Carl held various management roles at LTV Steel. In addition, Carl has also been a successful entrepreneur/consultant to a number of companies. Some of the previous positions he has held are Executive Vice President of Fourteenth Street Corporation, a land and building company; Vice President and Treasurer of Precision Galvanizing Inc., a producer of galvanized steel sheets; and Vice Chairman of Dawar Technologies. Carl received a B.A. in Mathematics and Political Science from Lehigh University and a M.B.A. from Duquesne University. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Dawar International, LLC. and the Board of Directors for General Contact Electronics Limited, a Hong Kong company.

Albert Dombrowski, Chairman

Al enjoyed a very successful 33-year career with Sears, serving in a variety of executive positions including National Business Manager for the Chicago Headquarters, Vice President for the U.S. Merchandise Group and Northeast U.S. Operations Manager. He has also been involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures including Dawar, where he has been a board member since 1998 and Chairman since 2002. Al was Chief Operating Officer at Winner Steel Inc., as well as a board member at Pyramid Composites Inc., Vice Chairman at Guardian Personal Security Products and a Vice Chairman at Western Auto. Al Holds a B.S. in economics from Villanova University. Additionally, Al serves on the Board of Directors for Dawar International, LLC. and is on the Board of Directors for General Contact Electronics Limited, a Hong Kong company.

Edwin Gott, Vice Chairman

Ed served as General Partner for THE TECHS, three steel processing companies located in Western Pennsylvania, NexTech, GalvTech and MetalTech until the sale of the company in January of 2004. Prior to his former position, Ed had over 15 years of management experience with LTV Corporation primarily in manufacturing and operations including Superintendent of Operations-Hennepin Works and Superintendent of the Tinplate facilities at the Aliquippa Works. Ed serves on the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute Council and previously served as the Chairman of Sewickley Valley Hospital for 5 years. He now serves as a Director on the Board of Dawar Technologies. He is also on the Board of Dawar International, LLC. and General Contact Electronics Limited, a Hong Kong company.

Ed graduated from Lehigh University and served as an officer in the United States Navy. He is also a graduate of the Program for Executives at Carnegie Mellon University.

Mel Pirchesky, Secretary/Treasurer

Mel is the principal of Pittsburgh-based Eagle Ventures, which delivers highly impactful coaching to entrepreneurs allowing them to effectively address their equity fundraising and product marketing challenges. Mel also raises venture capital when appropriate opportunities arise. Mel, along with his partners, looks for and acquires small manufacturing companies and takes them to their next level of success. He has been a financial strategist, specializing in deal evaluation and structuring for 35 years; a lead investor in a significant number of deals including five small manufacturing concerns in western PA; and a senior manager or board member in a variety of industries. Mel’s areas of experience include high technology, venture capital, manufacturing and process automation, medical devices, and oil and gas drilling. His experience has led to a deep understanding and appreciation for the strategic financial aspects of “deal-making,” including creating and growing businesses from an entrepreneurial perspective. Mel was a tax partner with Arthur Young & Company, a Big 8 accounting firm and a predecessor to Ernst & Young. Besides his degree in accounting from Penn State, Mel is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University's Entrepreneurial Management Program, a mentor to the Entrepreneurial Fellows Program at the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School Family Enterprise Center and an Eagle Scout.

Brian Bucher, Director

Brian Bucher is President and CEO of National City Bank, Northwest Region. In his previous position, Brian served as senior vice president and a manager in the National City Northcoast Middle Market. He joined National City in 1980 as a management trainee. He has held positions as vice president of the National City Multinational division, and in 1989 opened and managed the successful Pittsburgh Loan Production Office. Brian was promoted to regional manager of Metro Ohio in 1993, where he managed a group of relationship managers. He was named senior vice president of National City Investments in 1997, where he specialized in the firm’s work in mergers and acquisitions and was involved in products including private placements of both debt and equity securities, valuations and other advisory services.

Brian earned his M.B.A from Baldwin Wallace College and his bachelor’s degree in finance from The Ohio State University. He also holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses. Brian is currently involved in many local organizations in the Toledo community including: Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, Caldwell Center, Promedica - Physicians Corporation Board and Medical Compliance Group, Regional Growth Partnership Treasurer, and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library - Library Legacy Foundation.
