PROJECTED CAPACITIVE SCREENS
DawarTouch Projected Capacitive Touch Screens provide extreme endurance and reliability over long periods with extensive use. They are a preferred and excellent choice for highly demanding medical, public and industrial applications, such as Point-of-Sale, kiosks, ATMs, gaming machines and industrial controls.
Dawar’s standard Projected Capacitive touch screens consist of a top glass layer. An Optically Clear Adhesive (OCA) is applied to the back of the top surface material. Within this OCA, microscopic conductive filaments are imbedded in both the X and Y coordinates. This combination of OCA and filaments is then protected with a backer layer of polyester which adheres directly to the OCA. The wire filaments generate a capacitive field that passes through the glass and extends into the air immediately above the glass. A touch event occurs when a probe interferes with this projected field. This change in capacitance is detected through the filaments and relayed to the controller which interprets the X and Y coordinates of the event. Customizations with other top layer substrates such as polycarbonate or other materials may be designed.
