GRAPHIC DESIGN
Dawar has a full service design capability that can work from a conceptual idea, supplied art or an engineering drawing, resulting in a manufactured product that brings your equipment to life. The aesthetics, precision and reliability of overlays, membrane switches, smart cards and touch screens are dependent on the quality of the design. Dawar's graphic designers have over 70 years of combined design experience to create products that meet or exceed customers' expectations. Dawar's fully equipped design department augments the engineering and manufacturing of overlays, membrane switches and other applications. We customize every aspect of the manufacturing process to the requirements of the customer.

SUPPORTED FORMATS
Vector-based files are preferred.
Vector-based (Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, and Macromedia FreeHand) files are our preference for artwork. A vector graphic file consists of mathematically described objects located in terms of x and y coordinates. These graphic programs allow us to accurately manipulate the text and graphic components of a drawing for the film preparation step of the printing process, which increases the speed and ensures the quality of your printing job.
Page-based files aren’t exact enough.
Page-based (Adobe PageMaker 6.5 and QuarkXPress 3.3.1) files may be used to create artwork, but they don’t allow exacting placement of graphic components and have limited editing capabilities required for the screen printing process.
CAD-based files are a foundation, not final.
CAD-based files can be used as a base to build artwork, but we don’t consider these files as final artwork. CAD fonts and graphics don’t always translate accurately to the graphic programs required for film preparation.
.pdf files often work.
.pdf (portable document format) files are a popular format for saving files. Most of these files can be used as artwork if they were originally created in an application we support.
Exported files may work.
Most applications save or export files in several formats. If you use software that we don’t support, choose one of the preferred export formats listed above. Some files exported in these standard file formats can be used as artwork, but it depends on how they were created.
Bitmap images may work.
Bitmap images describe shapes using an array of pixels (screen image dots.) Corel Photo-Paint (Corel) and Photoshop (Adobe) are examples of applications used to create bitmap images. Bitmap images cannot be edited. These files can be used for artwork for certain printing applications, but may need to be furnished with specific requirements.
Include fonts and a hard copy.
Dawar Technologies has an extensive library of fonts. To avert a font conflict problem, include a copy of the fonts used (screen and printer fonts for MAC), or if your application allows, either convert text to line paths/curves or embed the fonts. Also include a hard copy (i.e., laser print or fax) proof along with your files to facilitate the production of your project.
Each font you use in a file must also be installed on our computer in order for the artwork to look the same and print correctly. (Similarly, if someone else plans to view your file, each font you use in your document must also be installed on his or her machine.) If these aren’t installed, when the document is opened, other fonts will be substituted.
